1 2 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 15 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. ___. Section 483A.24, subsection 2, Code
1 5 1997, is amended by adding a new paragraph:
1 6 NEW PARAGRAPH. d. In addition to a free deer
1 7 hunting license issued pursuant to paragraph "b", the
1 8 department may issue additional free deer hunting
1 9 licenses to owners of farm units in a hunting zone if,
1 10 pursuant to section 481A.39, the commission finds that
1 11 the deer population should be reduced. Additional
1 12 free deer hunting licenses shall be allocated by rule
1 13 of the commission based on the number of farm unit
1 14 acres owned by owners in a hunting zone. The free
1 15 deer hunting licenses are valid only in the hunting
1 16 zone in which the farm unit of the owner is located.
1 17 The free deer hunting licenses issued pursuant to this
1 18 paragraph are transferable and may be sold by an
1 19 owner. The owner shall furnish the department with
1 20 the name and address of the person to whom the free
1 21 deer hunting license is transferred. The recipients
1 22 of free deer hunting licenses shall report the number
1 23 of deer taken to the department."
