  1  1    Amend House File 142 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by striking lines 3 through 17 and
  1  3 inserting the following:
  1  4    "NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH.  The commission shall
  1  5 establish one or more pistol or revolver seasons for
  1  6 hunting deer to coincide with one or more firearm
  1  7 seasons or to be one or more separate pistol or
  1  8 revolver seasons for hunting deer.  Any pistol or
  1  9 revolver firing a three hundred fifty-seven
  1 10 thousandths of one inch caliber or larger, centerfire,
  1 11 straight wall ammunition propelling an expanding-type
  1 12 bullet is legal for hunting deer during the pistol or
  1 13 revolver seasons.  The commission shall adopt rules to
  1 14 allow black powder pistols or revolvers for hunting
  1 15 deer.  The rules shall not allow pistols or revolvers
  1 16 with shoulder stock or long-barrel modifications.  The
  1 17 rules may limit types of ammunition.  A person
  1 18 possessing a prohibited pistol or revolver while
  1 19 hunting deer commits a scheduled violation under
  1 20 section 805.8, subsection 5, paragraph "h"."
