  1  1    Section 1.  Section 903.1, subsection 1, paragraph a, Code
  1  2 1995, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    a.  For a simple misdemeanor, either imprisonment not to
  1  4 exceed thirty days, or a fine of at least fifty dollars but
  1  5 not to exceed one hundred dollars.  
  1  6                           EXPLANATION
  1  7    This bill eliminates the minimum fine for a simple
  1  8 misdemeanor of at least $50.
