Senate Study Bill 327

  1  1    Section 1.  Section 321E.8, Code 1995, is amended by adding
  1  2 the following new subsection:
  1  3    NEW SUBSECTION.  5.  Notwithstanding requirements to the
  1  4 contrary, an annual permit shall be issued for movement of a
  1  5 motor vehicle with an indivisible load if the gross weight on
  1  6 any axle does not exceed twenty thousand pounds and the gross
  1  7 vehicle weight does not exceed eighty thousand pounds.  
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9    This bill requires that annual permits for overweight
  1 10 vehicles be issued for movement of vehicles with indivisible
  1 11 loads if the gross weight on any axle does not exceed 20,000
  1 12 pounds and the gross vehicle weight does not exceed 80,000
  1 13 pounds.
