  1  1    Section 1.  Section 359.33, Code 1995, is amended to read
  1  2 as follows:
  1  3    359.33  TAX FOR NONOWNED CEMETERY.
  1  4    They For each cemetery not owned by the township, the board
  1  5 of trustees may levy a tax not to exceed six and three-fourths
  1  6 cents per thousand dollars of assessed value of taxable
  1  7 property to improve and maintain any cemetery not owned by the
  1  8 township the cemeteries, provided if the same cemetery is
  1  9 devoted to general public use.  
  1 10                           EXPLANATION
  1 11    This bill authorizes the township trustees to levy not more
  1 12 than six and three-fourth cents per $1,000 of taxable property
  1 13 to improve and maintain each of the cemeteries not owned by
  1 14 the township.
