1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 444.29 EXCEPTION FOR LOCAL
1 2 EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT FUND.
1 3 Moneys, including property tax revenues, which are obtained
1 4 from any source in connection with the county emergency
1 5 management program and which are to be deposited in the local
1 6 emergency management fund pursuant to section 29C.17, shall
1 7 not be limited by the provisions of sections 444.25A and
1 8 444.25B.
1 9 Sec. 2. Section 444.25A, subsection 2, paragraph d, Code
1 10 Supplement 1995, is amended by striking the paragraph.
1 11 Sec. 3. Section 444.25B, subsection 2, paragraph d, Code
1 12 Supplement 1995, is amended by striking the paragraph.
1 13 Sec. 4. EFFECTIVE AND APPLICABILITY DATES. This Act,
1 14 being deemed of immediate importance, takes effect upon
1 15 enactment and applies retroactively to January 1, 1996.
1 16 EXPLANATION
1 17 This bill exempts from the property tax limitation
1 18 provisions of chapter 444 any moneys deposited into a local
1 19 emergency management fund which is used to fund the county
1 20 emergency management program.
