1 1 Section 1. Section 484B.10, subsection 1, Code 1995, is
1 2 amended to read as follows:
1 3 1. A person shall not take a game bird or ungulate upon a
1 4 hunting preserve, by shooting in any manner, except during the
1 5 established season or as authorized by section 481A.56. The
1 6 established season shall be September 1 through March 31 of
1 7 the succeeding year, both dates inclusive. The owner of a
1 8 hunting preserve shall establish the hunting season for
1 9 nonnative, pen-reared ungulates on the hunting preserve.
1 10 Sec. 2. This Act, being deemed of immediate importance,
1 11 takes effect upon enactment.
1 12 EXPLANATION
1 13 This bill provides that the owner of a hunting preserve
1 14 with nonnative pen-reared ungulates shall establish the
1 15 hunting season for those ungulates. Currently, the
1 16 established season is September 1 through March 31 of the
1 17 succeeding year. This bill takes effect upon enactment.
