1 1 Section 1. There is appropriated from the general fund of
1 2 the state to the department of justice for the fiscal year
1 3 beginning July 1, 1996, and ending June 30, 1997, the
1 4 following amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, to be
1 5 used for the purpose designated:
1 6 For victims of domestic abuse to be used for emergency
1 7 shelter services as provided in section 236.15:
1 8 .................................................. $ 1,000,000
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill appropriates $1 million to the department of
1 11 justice for the 1996-1997 fiscal year to be used for victims
1 12 of domestic abuse as provided in section 236.15. That section
1 13 provides a mechanism for the department to fund emergency
1 14 shelter services for victims of domestic abuse or sexual
1 15 assault.
