1 1 Section 1. Section 805.8, Code Supplement 1995, is amended
1 2 by adding the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 2B. MOVING TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS &endash; SCHOOL
1 4 ZONES. The scheduled fine for any moving traffic violation
1 5 under chapter 321, as provided in this section, shall be
1 6 doubled or shall be set at one hundred dollars, whichever is
1 7 less, if the violation occurs within any school zone
1 8 established under section 321.249, on a day when school is in
1 9 session.
1 10 EXPLANATION
1 11 This bill provides that the scheduled fine for any moving
1 12 traffic violation shall be doubled or shall be set at $100,
1 13 whichever is less, if the violation occurs within any school
1 14 zone on a day when school is in session.
