  1  1    Section 1.  Section 727.10, Code 1995, is amended to read
  1  2 as follows:
  1  3    727.10  EXHIBITING DEFORMED OR ABNORMAL PERSONS.
  1  4    Any A person who shall not exhibit, place on exhibition, or
  1  5 cause to be exhibited any deformed, maimed, idiotic or
  1  6 abnormal person or human monstrosity without the exhibited
  1  7 person's or human monstrosity's consent, and receive any fee
  1  8 or compensation therefor, permission of the person exhibited
  1  9 or the person's parent or guardian.  A parent or guardian of
  1 10 an exhibited person shall not receive compensation from the
  1 11 exhibition.  A person who violates this section commits a
  1 12 serious misdemeanor.  
  1 13                           EXPLANATION
  1 14    This bill provides that a person shall not be exhibited
  1 15 without the person's consent or that of the person's parent or
  1 16 guardian and that the parent or guardian of the person
  1 17 exhibited cannot receive compensation from the exhibition.
  1 18 The bill deletes current language referring to the exhibition
  1 19 of deformed, maimed, idiotic, or abnormal persons or human
  1 20 monstrosities.
