  1  1    Section 1.  Section 321.189, subsection 4, Code 1995, is
  1  2 amended to read as follows:
  1  3    4.  SYMBOLS.  Upon the request of a licensee, or a person
  1  4 renewing the person's license by mail, the department shall
  1  5 indicate on the license, or the validation document issued to
  1  6 a person renewing by mail, the presence of a medical
  1  7 condition, or that the licensee is a donor under the uniform
  1  8 anatomical gift law, or that the licensee has in effect a
  1  9 medical advance directive.  For purposes of this subsection, a
  1 10 medical advance directive includes, but is not limited to, a
  1 11 valid durable power of attorney for health care as defined in
  1 12 section 144B.1.  The license may contain such other
  1 13 information as the department may require by rule.
