  1  1    Amend Senate File 2449 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 6, line 20, by striking the word and
  1  3 figure "subsection 1,".
  1  4    #2.  Page 6, by inserting after line 28 the
  1  5 following:
  1  6    "2.  If the amount appropriated under subsection 1,
  1  7 as limited by section 8.59, plus any supplemental
  1  8 appropriation made for purposes of this section for a
  1  9 fiscal year is insufficient to pay all claims in full,
  1 10 the director shall pay, in full, all claims to be paid
  1 11 during the fiscal year for reimbursement of rent
  1 12 constituting property taxes paid or if moneys are
  1 13 insufficient to pay all such claims on a pro rata
  1 14 basis.  If the amount of claims for credit for
  1 15 property taxes due to be paid during the fiscal year
  1 16 exceed the amount remaining after payment to renters,
  1 17 the director of revenue and finance shall prorate the
  1 18 payments to the counties for the property tax credit.
  1 19 In order for the director to carry out the
  1 20 requirements of this subsection, notwithstanding any
  1 21 provision to the contrary in this division, claims for
  1 22 reimbursement for rent constituting property taxes
  1 23 paid filed before May 1 of the fiscal year shall be
  1 24 eligible to be paid in full during the fiscal year and
  1 25 those claims filed on or after May 1 of the fiscal
  1 26 year shall be eligible to be paid during the following
  1 27 fiscal year and the director is not required to make
  1 28 payments to counties for the property tax credit
  1 29 before June 15 of the fiscal year."
  1 30    #3.  Page 7, line 17, by striking the words "in
  1 31 full" and inserting the following:  "in full".
  1 32    #4.  Page 28, line 27, by striking the word
  1 33 "assessing authority" and inserting the following:
  1 34 "county treasurer".
  1 35    #5.  Page 28, line 29, by striking the words
  1 36 "assessing authorities" and inserting the following:
  1 37 "county treasurers".
  1 38    #6.  Page 28, line 34, by striking the words
  1 39 "assessing authorities" and inserting the following:
  1 40 "county treasurers".
