  1  1    Amend Senate File 2142 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 10, by inserting after line 31 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec.    .  Section 912.14, Code 1995, is amended
  1  5 to read as follows:
  1  6    912.14  VICTIM COMPENSATION FUND.
  1  7    A victim compensation fund is established as a
  1  8 separate fund in the state treasury.  Moneys deposited
  1  9 in the fund shall be administered by the department
  1 10 and dedicated to and used for the purposes of section
  1 11 sections 236.15 and 709.10 and this chapter.  The
  1 12 department may use moneys in the victim compensation
  1 13 fund to award funding to programs providing services
  1 14 and support to victims of domestic abuse or sexual
  1 15 assault as provided in chapter 236.  Notwithstanding
  1 16 section 8.33, any balance in the fund on June 30 of
  1 17 any fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund
  1 18 of the state."
