  1  1    Amend the Senate amendment, H-3428, to House File
  1  2 215, as amended, passed, and reprinted by the House,
  1  3 as follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 1, line 4, by inserting before the word
  1  5 "at" the following:  "on chain gangs".
  1  6    #2.  Page 1, by inserting after line 8 the
  1  7 following:
  1  8    "#   .  Page 1, line 19, by inserting after the
  1  9 word "institutions." the following:  "Inmates
  1 10 performing other types of hard labor at locations
  1 11 other than within or on the grounds of a correctional
  1 12 institution may also be required by the department to
  1 13 wear the brightly colored uniforms.  Inmates not
  1 14 required to wear brightly colored uniforms while
  1 15 performing hard labor shall be otherwise clearly
  1 16 designated as inmates of correctional institutions.""
  1 17    #3.  Page 1, by striking lines 9 through 11.
  1 18    #4.  Page 1, line 14, by inserting after the word
  1 19 "labor," the following:  "substance abuse or sex
  1 20 offender treatment programs,".
  1 21    #5.  Page 1, by striking lines 15 through 19 and
  1 22 inserting the following:
  1 23    "#   .  Page 2, by striking line 28 and inserting
  1 24 the following:  "shall provide for implementation of
  1 25 hard labor work programs during the interval of time
  1 26 between the effective date of this Act and July 1,
  1 27 1997, with full implementation of the requirements".
  1 28    #   .  Page 3, by striking line 6 and inserting the
  1 29 following:  "a report to the general assembly on".
  1 30    #   .  Page 3, line 7, by striking the figure
  1 31 "1997" and inserting the following:  "1996".
  1 32    #   .  Page 3, line 9, by striking the word "July"
  1 33 and inserting the following:  "January"."
  1 34    #6.  By numbering and renumbering as necessary.
