1 5 "Sec. . Section 56.41, subsection 1, Code 1995,
1 6 is amended to read as follows:
1 7 1. A candidate and the candidate's committee shall
1 8 use campaign funds only for campaign purposes,
1 9 educational and other expenses associated with the
1 10 duties of office, or constituency services, and shall
1 11 not use campaign funds for personal expenses or
1 12 personal benefit. The purchase of subscriptions to
1 13 newspapers from or which circulate within the area
1 14 represented by the office which a candidate is seeking
1 15 or holds is presumed to be an expense that is
1 16 associated with the duties of the campaign for and
1 17 duties of office."
