1 3 #1. Page 10, by striking lines 9 through 16 and
1 4 inserting the following:
1 5 "There is to be established by the legislative
1 6 council a 17 member task force to study the job
1 7 training needs of the state with emphasis on the needs
1 8 of targeted technology industries. The review should
1 9 include, but is not limited to, studying the funding
1 10 of retraining programs through consortia and supplier
1 11 networks and entering into multiple retraining agree-
1 12 ments to the same business. Membership of the task
1 13 force consists of three senators to be appointed by
1 14 the majority and minority leaders of the senate, three
1 15 representatives to be appointed by the speaker and
1 16 minority leaders of the house of representatives, and
1 17 11 members appointed by the governor from each of the
1 18 following targeted technology industries: advanced
1 19 manufacturing; advanced materials; biomedicine, health
1 20 sciences; biotechnology; computer and information
1 21 sciences; electronics, related fields; engineering
1 22 theory and application; energy, natural resources;
1 23 environmental sciences; telecommunications; and
1 24 transportation and aerospace. The task force shall
1 25 make a report of its findings and any recommendations
1 26 to the governor and general assembly by January 1,
1 27 1996."
