  1  1    Amend House File 346 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by inserting before line 1 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Section 1.  Section 805.3, Code 1995, is amended
  1  5 to read as follows:
  1  6    805.3  PROCEDURE.
  1  7    Before the cited person is released, the person
  1  8 shall sign the citation, under penalty of providing
  1  9 false information under section 719.3, properly
  1 10 identifying the person cited.  The person's signature
  1 11 shall also serve as a written promise to appear in
  1 12 court at the time and place specified.  A copy of the
  1 13 citation shall be given to the person."
  1 14    #2.  Page 1, by striking lines 1 through 21 and
  1 15 inserting the following:
  1 16    "Sec.    .  Section 805.6, subsection 1, paragraph
  1 17 a, unnumbered paragraph 2, Code 1995, is amended to
  1 18 read as follows:
  1 19    The uniform citation and complaint shall contain
  1 20 spaces for the parties' names; the address of the
  1 21 alleged offender; the registration number of the
  1 22 offender's vehicle; the information required by
  1 23 section 805.2; a promise to appear as provided in
  1 24 section 805.3 and a place where the cited person may
  1 25 sign the promise to appear; a warning which states "I
  1 26 hereby swear and affirm that the information provided
  1 27 by me on this citation is true under penalty of
  1 28 providing false information"; and a statement that
  1 29 providing false information is a violation of section
  1 30 719.3; a list of the scheduled fines prescribed by
  1 31 section 805.8, either separately or by group, and a
  1 32 statement of the court costs payable in scheduled
  1 33 violation cases, whether or not a court appearance is
  1 34 required or is demanded; a brief explanation of
  1 35 sections 805.9 and 805.10; and a space where the
  1 36 defendant may sign an admission of the violation when
  1 37 permitted by section 805.9; and the uniform citation
  1 38 and complaint shall require that the defendant appear
  1 39 before a court at a specified time and place.  The
  1 40 uniform citation and complaint also may contain a
  1 41 space for the imprint of a credit card, and may
  1 42 contain any other information which the commissioner
  1 43 of public safety and the director of natural resources
  1 44 may determine."
  1 45    #3.  Title page, line 2, by inserting after the
  1 46 word "complaints" the following:  "and to providing
  1 47 false information on a uniform citation and complaint
  1 48 and making an existing penalty applicable".
