  1  1    Amend Senate File 173 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by inserting before line 1 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec.    .  Section 196.1, Code 1995, is amended by
  1  5 adding the following new subsection:
  1  6    NEW SUBSECTION.  3A.  "Department" means the
  1  7 department of inspections and appeals, as established
  1  8 in section 10A.102.
  1  9    Sec.    .  Section 196.1, subsection 9, Code 1995,
  1 10 is amended to read as follows:
  1 11    9.  "Secretary", "department", and "package" have
  1 12 the meanings ascribed to them "Package" means the same
  1 13 as defined in section 189.1.
  1 14    Sec.    .  Section 196.2, Code 1995, is amended to
  1 15 read as follows:
  1 16    196.2  ENFORCEMENT.
  1 17    The secretary department shall enforce the
  1 18 provisions of this chapter, and may make adopt rules
  1 19 pursuant to chapter 17A and consistent with
  1 20 regulations of the United States government as they
  1 21 exist on July 1, 1985, pursuant to the Agricultural
  1 22 Marketing Act of 1946, 7 U.S.C. } 1621 et seq., and
  1 23 the Egg Products Inspection Act of 1970, 21 U.S.C. }
  1 24 1044 et seq."
  1 25    #2.  Page 8, line 15, by striking the word "board"
  1 26 and inserting the following:  "council".
  1 27    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
