1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 135.106A IOWA HEALTHY FAMILY
1 2 PROGRAM FUND – APPROPRIATION.
1 3 An Iowa healthy family program fund is created in the
1 4 office of the treasurer of state under the control of the Iowa
1 5 department of public health. There is appropriated annually
1 6 from the general fund of the state to the Iowa healthy family
1 7 program fund, four hundred thousand dollars to be used by the
1 8 Iowa department of public health to expand statewide the Iowa
1 9 healthy family program established in section 135.106. The
1 10 Iowa department of public health shall develop a plan
1 11 including recommendations for increased funding to expand the
1 12 Iowa healthy family program statewide. The plan shall be
1 13 submitted to the general assembly on or before December 1,
1 14 1996.
1 15 EXPLANATION
1 16 This bill provides for the creation of an Iowa healthy
1 17 family program fund under the control of the Iowa department
1 18 of public health. An appropriation of $400,000 is made
1 19 annually to the department of public health to expand the Iowa
1 20 healthy family program established in section 135.106.
1 21 The bill also provides for the development of a plan for
1 22 expanding the program statewide. The plan will be developed
1 23 by the department of public health, and will be submitted to
1 24 the general assembly on or before December 1, 1996.
