1 2 1995, is amended to read as follows:
1 3 4. An agency which adopts standards by reference to
1 4 another publication shall purchase and provide a copy of the
1 5 publication containing the standards to the administrative
1 6 rules coordinator who shall deposit the copy in the state law
1 7 library where it shall be made available for inspection and
1 8 reference. However, if the purchase of a copy of the
1 9 publication containing the standards would be an unreasonable
1 10 expense and the state law library can temporarily and promptly
1 11 obtain a copy of the publication upon receiving a request, the
1 12 administrative rules coordinator may waive the requirement of
1 13 this subsection.
1 14 EXPLANATION
1 15 This bill amends a requirement in section 17A.6, relating
1 16 to publications under the administrative procedures Act.
1 17 Section 17A.6 requires an agency which adopts standards by
1 18 reference to another publication to purchase the publication
1 19 and provide it to the administrative rules coordinator for
1 20 deposit in the state law library. The bill authorizes the
1 21 administrative rules coordinator to waive the requirement if
1 22 the purchase of the publication is an unreasonable expense and
1 23 the state law library can temporarily and promptly obtain a
1 24 copy of the publication upon receiving a request.
