1 1 Section 1. Section 235A.15, subsection 2, paragraph e,
1 2 Code Supplement 1995, is amended by adding the following new
1 3 subparagraph:
1 4 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH. (15) To a person who submits written
1 5 authorization from an individual allowing the person access to
1 6 information pursuant to this subsection on behalf of the
1 7 individual in order to verify whether the individual is named
1 8 in a founded child abuse report as having abused a child.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill amends section 235A.15, relating to release of
1 11 child abuse information. The bill permits the department of
1 12 human services to release information to a person authorized
1 13 by an individual for the purpose of verifying whether the
1 14 individual is named in a founded child abuse report as having
1 15 abused a child.
