PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 18.75, Code Supplement 1995, is amended 1 2 by adding the following new subsection and renumbering 1 3 existing subsection 9: 1 4 NEW SUBSECTION. 9. Prepare and maintain the official 1 5 register in an electronic medium which is accessible to the 1 6 public on-line through the use of a computer. The files 1 7 containing the official register shall be stored on the 1 8 computer in such a manner that the files cannot be modified, 1 9 destroyed, changed, or overlaid in any fashion. 1 10 Sec. 2. Section 18.86, Code Supplement 1995, is amended to 1 11 read as follows: 1 12 18.86 ASSEMBLY MEMBERS. 1 13 The official reports, the miscellaneous documents and other 1 14 publications upon request, and the completed journals of the 1 15 general assemblyand ten copies of the official register,1 16 shall be sent to each member of the general assembly, and, so 1 17 far as they are available, additional copies upon their 1 18 request. Requests for publications shall be handled only upon 1 19 receipt of postage by the superintendent. 1 20 EXPLANATION 1 21 This bill directs the superintendent of printing to 1 22 maintain the official register in an electronic medium 1 23 accessible to the public on-line through the use of a 1 24 computer. The bill also strikes language providing that each 1 25 member of the general assembly is to receive 10 free copies of 1 26 the official register. 1 27 LSB 3773HC 76 1 28 mj/jj/8
