House Study Bill 533

  1  1    Section 1.  REPEAL.  1995 Iowa Acts, chapter 216, section
  1  2 27, is repealed.
  1  3    Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act, being deemed of
  1  4 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.  
  1  5                           EXPLANATION
  1  6    In 1995, the general assembly enacted House File 553, which
  1  7 in part provides that the department of agriculture and land
  1  8 stewardship and the office of the attorney general shall
  1  9 cooperate in bringing legal action against parties liable for
  1 10 damages caused by the shipment from the state of Michigan of
  1 11 trees or other plants infested with gypsy moths.  This bill
  1 12 repeals that provision.  The bill takes effect upon enactment.
