1 1 Section 1. Section 422.45, Code Supplement 1995, is
1 2 amended by adding the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 50. The gross receipts from the sale of
1 4 parts, including replacement parts and services rendered,
1 5 furnished, or performed on a commercial motor vehicle which is
1 6 registered in accordance with chapter 326. Commercial motor
1 7 vehicle means as defined in section 321.1.
1 8 EXPLANATION
1 9 This bill provides a sales tax exemption for sales of
1 10 parts, including replacement parts and services rendered,
1 11 furnished, or performed on a commercial motor vehicle which is
1 12 registered in accordance with chapter 326.
1 13 "Commercial motor vehicle" means a motor vehicle or
1 14 combination of vehicles used to transport passengers or
1 15 property if the combination of vehicles has a gross
1 16 combination weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more provided
1 17 the towed vehicle has a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,001
1 18 pounds or more, if the motor vehicle has a gross vehicle
1 19 weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more, if the motor vehicle
1 20 is designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the
1 21 operator, or if the motor vehicle is used in the
1 22 transportation of hazardous material of a type or quantity
1 23 requiring vehicle placarding.
