  1  1    Section 1.  Section 8D.14, Code 1995, is amended to read as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    8D.14  IOWA COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK FUND.
  1  4    There is created in the office of the treasurer of state a
  1  5 fund to be known as the Iowa communications network fund under
  1  6 the control of the Iowa telecommunications and technology
  1  7 commission.  There is appropriated from the general fund of
  1  8 the state to the Iowa communications network fund for each
  1  9 fiscal year of the fiscal period beginning July 1, 1991, and
  1 10 ending June 30, 1996, the sum of five million dollars.  There
  1 11 shall also be deposited into the Iowa communications network
  1 12 fund proceeds from bonds issued for purposes of projects
  1 13 authorized pursuant to section 8D.13, funds received from
  1 14 leases pursuant to section 8D.11, and other moneys by law
  1 15 credited to or designated by a person for deposit into the
  1 16 fund.
  1 17    Sec. 2.  There is appropriated from the general fund of the
  1 18 state to the Iowa communications network fund under control of
  1 19 the Iowa telecommunications and technology commission for the
  1 20 fiscal year beginning July 1, 1995, and ending June 30, 1996,
  1 21 the following amount, or so much thereof as may be necessary,
  1 22 to be used for the purpose designated:
  1 23    For debt service:  
  1 24 .................................................. $ 12,783,000
  1 25                           EXPLANATION
  1 26    This bill amends section 8D.14 by striking language which
  1 27 appropriated $5,000,000 to the Iowa communications network
  1 28 fund for each fiscal year of the fiscal period beginning July
  1 29 1, 1991, and ending June 30, 1996.
  1 30    The bill also appropriates $12,783,000 to the Iowa
  1 31 communications network fund for debt service.
