1 1 Section 1. Section 15.102, subsection 5, paragraph b, Code
1 2 1995, is amended by striking the paragraph and inserting in
1 3 lieu thereof the following:
1 4 b. As used in this subsection:
1 5 (1) "Person with a disability" means an individual with a
1 6 physical or mental impairment which constitutes a substantial
1 7 impediment to employment and who can benefit in terms of
1 8 employment outcome from the provision of vocational
1 9 rehabilitation services.
1 10 (2) "Minority person" means an individual who is an
1 11 African-American, Hispanic, Asian or Pacific Islander,
1 12 American Indian, or Alaskan native American.
1 13 EXPLANATION
1 14 This bill amends the definition of disability in section
1 15 15.102 for the purposes of targeted small business programs to
1 16 conform to the definition contained in the Federal
1 17 Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The bill also substitutes the
1 18 term "African-American" for the term "Black" in the definition
1 19 of minority person.
