House Study Bill 143

  1  1    Section 1.  REPEAL.  Section 28E.20, Code 1995, is
  1  2 repealed.  
  1  3                           EXPLANATION
  1  4    This bill repeals the requirement that before cities,
  1  5 counties, townships, school districts, or other political
  1  6 subdivisions purchase equipment worth at least $50,000, they
  1  7 shall consider making the purchase with another political
  1  8 subdivision of the state.  The bill also repeals the
  1  9 requirement that the minutes of the governing board making the
  1 10 purchase indicate what other governing bodies were contacted
  1 11 concerning a possible joint purchase of the equipment.
