1 1 Section 1. REPORTS BY PROVIDERS OF FOSTER CARE SERVICES –
1 2 REVIEW – PROCESS SIMPLIFICATION. The department of human
1 3 services shall consult with providers of rehabilitation
1 4 treatment services relating to the medical assistance child
1 5 services initiative in reviewing provider requirements
1 6 relating to financial and statistical accountability reporting
1 7 and the process for submission of the reports relating to
1 8 these requirements. Following this review, and no later than
1 9 January 1, 1997, the department of human services shall
1 10 implement a process which provides, at a minimum, for a
1 11 simplified means of documenting compliance with federal
1 12 provider accountability requirements which shall, at a
1 13 minimum, include consolidation of the reports required and
1 14 which may provide a means for submission of the reports in an
1 15 electronic format.
1 16 EXPLANATION
1 17 This bill directs the department of human services, in
1 18 consultation with providers of rehabilitation treatment
1 19 services relating to the medical assistance child services
1 20 initiative, to review the federal financial and statistical
1 21 accountability requirements for providers of those services
1 22 and to review the process for submission of the reports
1 23 relating to these requirements. Following this review, the
1 24 department is required to implement a process, no later than
1 25 January 1, 1997, which provides a simplified means for
1 26 documenting provider compliance, which, at a minimum, provides
1 27 for consolidation of the reports required and which may
1 28 provide a means for submission of the reports electronically.
