1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 455B.205 REGULAR INSPECTIONS.
1 2 The department shall inspect the site of an animal feeding
1 3 operation required to obtain a construction permit for an
1 4 animal feeding operation structure as provided in section
1 5 455B.173. The department shall conduct an inspection of each
1 6 animal feeding operation at least twice each year. The
1 7 department shall inspect each animal feeding operation
1 8 structure located on the site and the land where manure
1 9 originating from the animal feeding operation is applied
1 10 pursuant to a manure management plan submitted by the animal
1 11 feeding operation, pursuant to section 455B.203.
1 12 EXPLANATION
1 13 This bill requires the department of natural resources to
1 14 inspect the site of an animal feeding operation required to
1 15 obtain a construction permit for an animal feeding operation
1 16 structure at least twice each year. The bill provides that
1 17 the department must inspect each animal feeding operation
1 18 structure located on the site and the land where manure
1 19 originating from the animal feeding operation is applied
1 20 pursuant to the operation's manure management plan.
