  1  1    Section 1.  Section 153.13, subsection 2, Code 1995, is
  1  2 amended by striking the subsection and inserting in lieu
  1  3 thereof the following:
  1  4    2.  Persons who perform examination, diagnosis, treatment,
  1  5 and attempted correction by any medicine, appliance, surgery,
  1  6 or other appropriate method of any disease, condition,
  1  7 disorder, lesion, injury, deformity, or defect of the oral
  1  8 cavity and maxillofacial area, including teeth, gums, jaws,
  1  9 and associated structures and tissue, which methods by
  1 10 education, background experience, and expertise are common to
  1 11 the practice of dentistry.
