1 1 Section 1. Section 321.461, Code 1995, is amended by
1 2 adding the following new unnumbered paragraph:
1 3 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. A truck tractor towing a tandem
1 4 trailer shall have affixed to the rear of the trailer a sign
1 5 indicating that the trailer is a tandem. The department shall
1 6 determine the size, wording, and exact location of the sign.
1 7 EXPLANATION
1 8 This bill requires a truck tractor towing a tandem trailer
1 9 to affix a sign to the rear of the trailer indicating that the
1 10 trailer is a tandem. The state department of transportation
1 11 is required to determine the size, wording, and exact location
1 12 of the sign. A violation of this provision is a scheduled
1 13 fine of $25.
