1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 217.45 SUPERVISORY STAFF
1 2 REQUIREMENTS.
1 3 For the purposes of this section, "supervisory staff
1 4 person" means a department of human services supervisory staff
1 5 person who supervises individual department staff members who
1 6 maintain a caseload of individuals, contracts, or functions
1 7 which directly implement the department's services. The term
1 8 does not apply to the director of human services, division
1 9 administrators, and bureau chiefs. For a period of thirty or
1 10 more continuous calendar days in every two fiscal years, a
1 11 supervisory staff person shall maintain at least the average
1 12 of the minimum caseload required of the persons supervised by
1 13 the supervisory staff person.
1 14 EXPLANATION
1 15 This bill applies to department of human services
1 16 supervisors of staff persons who maintain a caseload of
1 17 individuals, contracts, or functions which directly implement
1 18 the department's services. The requirement does not apply to
1 19 the director of human services, division administrators, and
1 20 bureau chiefs. The bill requires a supervisor to maintain a
1 21 caseload which is as least the average of the minimum caseload
1 22 required of the staff members supervised by the supervisor.
1 23 The caseload must be maintained for a period of at least 30
1 24 continuous calendar days in every two fiscal years.
