1 1 Section 1. SOLDIERS AND SAILORS MONUMENT OF THE CIVIL WAR
1 2 &endash; APPROPRIATION FOR REPAIR AND RENOVATION. There is
1 3 appropriated from the general fund of the state to the
1 4 department of general services for the fiscal year beginning
1 5 July 1, 1996, and ending June 30, 1997, the following amount,
1 6 or so much thereof as is necessary, to be used for the
1 7 following purpose:
1 8 To provide matching funds not to exceed 50 percent of the
1 9 total cost of a project to repair and renovate the soldiers
1 10 and sailors monument of the civil war on the state capitol
1 11 complex:
1 12 .................................................. $ 60,000
1 13 Notwithstanding section 8.33, any unencumbered and
1 14 unobligated funds appropriated in this section which remain on
1 15 June 30, 1999, shall revert to the general fund of the state
1 16 on August 31, 1999.
1 17 EXPLANATION
1 18 This bill appropriates $60,000 from the general fund of the
1 19 state for the 1996-1997 fiscal year to the department of
1 20 general services to provide matching funds not to exceed 50
1 21 percent of the total cost of repairing and renovating the
1 22 soldiers and sailors monument of the civil war on the state
1 23 capitol complex.
