  1  1    Section 1.  Section 358C.1, subsection 2, paragraph d, Code
  1  2 Supplement 1995, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    d.  "District" means a real estate improvement district as
  1  4 created in this chapter, in a county designated as a pilot
  1  5 county under section 358C.2.
  1  6    Sec. 2.  Section 358C.2, Code Supplement 1995, is repealed.
  1  7    Sec. 3.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act, being deemed of
  1  8 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.  
  1  9                           EXPLANATION
  1 10    This bill repeals the pilot program which limits the
  1 11 establishment of real estate improvement districts to six
  1 12 counties, thus allowing the statewide establishment of real
  1 13 estate improvement districts.  The bill takes effect upon
  1 14 enactment.
