1 1 Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS &endash; EDUCATIONAL
1 2 PROGRAMS. There is appropriated from the general fund of the
1 3 state to the department of corrections for the fiscal year
1 4 beginning July 1, 1996, and ending June 30, 1997, the
1 5 following amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, to be
1 6 used for the purpose designated:
1 7 For existing educational programs for adult literacy for
1 8 inmates at state correctional institutions:
1 9 .................................................. $ 200,000
1 10 Funds appropriated in this section shall supplement, not
1 11 supplant, any other funds appropriated for educational
1 12 programs for inmates at state correctional institutions.
1 13 EXPLANATION
1 14 This bill appropriates $200,000 in supplemental funding to
1 15 the department of corrections for existing educational
1 16 programs for adult literacy for inmates at state correctional
1 17 institutions. The funds appropriated in this bill shall not
1 18 supplant any other funds appropriated for educational programs
1 19 for inmates at state correctional institutions.
