1 1 Section 1. Section 910.4, Code 1995, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new unnumbered paragraph:
1 3 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. When restitution is ordered by
1 4 the sentencing court and the offender has been discharged from
1 5 probation before the offender has paid in full all restitution
1 6 ordered by the sentencing court, the offender may be held in
1 7 contempt of court for failure to comply with the restitution
1 8 order.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill provides that in the case of a person who has
1 11 been discharged from probation without satisfying an order
1 12 requiring restitution, the restitution order may be enforced
1 13 through contempt proceedings.
