1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 232.53A DURATION OF CERTAIN
1 2 DISPOSITIONAL ORDERS.
1 3 Notwithstanding section 232.53, if a child has been adjudi-
1 4 cated delinquent for an act which would be a class "A" or
1 5 class "B" felony if committed by an adult, the court may enter
1 6 a dispositional order which shall remain in effect for an
1 7 indeterminate period of time subject to termination or
1 8 modification in accordance with section 232.54. However, a
1 9 dispositional order regarding a child adjudicated delinquent
1 10 for a class "A" or class "B" felony shall not remain in effect
1 11 beyond the child's thirtieth birthday.
1 12 EXPLANATION
1 13 This bill provides that the juvenile court may enter a dis-
1 14 positional order regarding a juvenile adjudicated delinquent
1 15 for an act which would be a class "A" or class "B" felony if
1 16 committed by an adult which shall be effective for an
1 17 indeterminate period of time, unless sooner modified or
1 18 terminated by the juvenile court. The order shall not remain
1 19 in effect past the time the juvenile reaches age 30.
