1 1 Amend the amendment, H-5639, to Senate File 454, as
1 2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
1 3 follows:
1 4 #1. Page 1, line 17, by striking the words "the
1 5 nursing care" and inserting the following: "health-
1 6 related care".
1 7 #2. Page 1, line 18, by inserting after the word
1 8 "a" the following: "continuous".
1 9 #3. Page 2, line 24, by striking the words "or
1 10 voluntary accreditation".
1 11 #4. Page 2, line 25, by inserting after the word
1 12 "programs." the following: "An assisted living
1 13 program which is voluntarily accredited is not
1 14 required to also be certified by the department and
1 15 the department shall accept voluntary accreditation in
1 16 lieu of certification by the department."
1 17 #5. Page 2, by striking lines 31 and 32 and
1 18 inserting the following: "state shall be certified
1 19 with the department or shall be voluntarily
1 20 accredited. The owner or manager of a certified".
1 21 #6. By striking page 2, line 49, through page 3,
1 22 line 5, and inserting the following:
1 23 "4. The department may enter into contracts to
1 24 provide certification and monitoring of assisted
1 25 living programs. The department shall have full
1 26 access to a program during certification and
1 27 monitoring of programs seeking certification or
1 28 currently certified. Upon the request of the
1 29 department the entity providing accreditation of a
1 30 program shall provide copies to the department of all
1 31 materials related to the accreditation process."
1 32 #7. Page 3, by striking lines 17 and 18 and
1 33 inserting the following: "shall be granted a
1 34 temporary certification by the department or shall be
1 35 voluntarily accredited and shall".
1 36 #8. Page 3, by striking lines 36 through 43 and
1 37 inserting the following:
1 38 "Sec. 6. MEDICAL ASSISTANCE WAIVER. The
1 39 department of human services shall take any actions
1 40 necessary to allow a certified or voluntarily
1 41 accredited assisted living program to be a provider of
1 42 personal care services under the medical assistance
1 43 home and community-based services waiver for the
1 44 elderly."
