1 4 "Sec. . NEW SECTION. 509A.14A IOWA INDIVIDUAL
1 5 HEALTH BENEFIT REINSURANCE ASSOCIATION – ELECTION NOT
1 6 TO PARTICIPATE.
1 7 A political subdivision of the state or a school
1 8 corporation providing health insurance or health
1 9 benefits for employees pursuant to section 509A.14 may
1 10 elect not to participate in the Iowa individual health
1 11 benefit reinsurance association established in section
1 12 513C.10 in accordance with and subject to the terms
1 13 and conditions adopted by the board of the Iowa
1 14 individual health benefit reinsurance association.
1 15 Health insurance or health benefits provided by a
1 16 political subdivision of the state or school
1 17 corporation which elects not to participate in the
1 18 Iowa individual health benefit reinsurance association
1 19 shall not be considered qualifying existing coverage
1 20 or qualifying previous coverage as defined in section
1 21 513C.3."
