1 1 Amend Senate File 2158, as amended, passed, and
1 2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
1 3 #1. Page 1, by inserting before line 1 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "Section 1. NEW SECTION. 280.24 TEXTBOOK
1 6 DISCLOSURE.
1 7 By September 1 of each school year, the board of
1 8 directors of each public school, and the authorities
1 9 in charge of each nonpublic school using textbooks
1 10 made available from state funds as authorized under
1 11 section 301.1, shall provide the parent or guardian of
1 12 each child enrolled in the school district or
1 13 nonpublic school with a list of the textbooks, as
1 14 defined in section 301.1, that the school district or
1 15 nonpublic school anticipates it will use to educate
1 16 the child during the school year. The school district
1 17 or nonpublic school may also annually provide the
1 18 parent or guardian with a list of textbooks, as
1 19 defined in section 301.1, appropriate for the child's
1 20 grade level and recommended by the school district or
1 21 nonpublic school to enhance the child's education."
