PAG LIN 1 1 Amend House File 2449 as follows: 1 2 #1. Page 2, line 35, by striking the words "or 1 3 political committee". 1 4 #2. Page 3, by striking lines 24 through 32 and 1 5 inserting the following: 1 6 "4. A political committee shall not make any 1 7 contribution to a candidate, candidate's committee, 1 8 state statutory political committee, county statutory 1 9 political committee, or a city statutory political 1 10 committee." 1 11 #3. Page 7, by inserting after line 25 the 1 12 following: 1 13 "Sec. . Section 56.15A, Code 1995, is amended 1 14 to read as follows: 1 15 56.15A PROHIBITING LOBBYIST CONTRIBUTIONS DURING 1 16 THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION. 1 17 A lobbyistor political committee, other than a1 18state statutory political committee, county statutory1 19political committee, or a national political party,1 20 shall not contribute to, act as an agent or 1 21 intermediary for contributions to, or arrange for the 1 22 making of monetary or in-kind contributions to the 1 23 campaign of an elected state official, member of the 1 24 general assembly, or candidate for state office on any 1 25 day during the regular legislative session and, in the 1 26 case of the governor or a gubernatorial candidate, 1 27 during the thirty days following the adjournment of a 1 28 regular legislative session allowed for the signing of 1 29 bills. This section shall not apply to the receipt of 1 30 contributions by an elected state official, member of 1 31 the general assembly, or other state official who has 1 32 taken affirmative action to seek nomination or 1 33 election to a federal elective office. 1 34 This section shall not apply to a candidate for 1 35 state office who filed nomination papers for an office 1 36 for which a special election is called or held during 1 37 the regular legislative session, if the candidate 1 38 receives the contribution at any time during the 1 39 period commencing on the date on which at least two 1 40 candidates have been nominated for the office and 1 41 ending on the date on which the election is held. A 1 42 person who is an elected state official shall not, 1 43 however, solicit contributions during a legislative 1 44 session from any lobbyistor political committee,1 45other than a state statutory political committee,1 46county statutory political committee, or a national1 47political party,for another candidate for a state 1 48 office for which a special election is held." 1 49 #4.
