  1  1    Amend House File 2416 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 24, by inserting after line 20 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec.    .  Section 7E.6, subsection 1, paragraph
  1  5 a, Code 1995, is amended to read as follows:
  1  6    a.  Any position of membership on any board,
  1  7 committee, commission, or council in the executive
  1  8 branch of state government which is compensated by the
  1  9 payment of a per diem to the holder of that position
  1 10 under statutory law shall be compensated at the rate
  1 11 of fifty sixty dollars per diem, notwithstanding any
  1 12 other law to the contrary.
  1 13    Sec.    .  Section 7E.6, subsections 2 and 3, Code
  1 14 1995, are amended to read as follows:
  1 15    2.  Any position of membership on any board,
  1 16 committee, commission, or council in the state
  1 17 government which has a compensation level limited to
  1 18 expenses only is eligible to receive, in addition to
  1 19 such actual expense reimbursement, an additional
  1 20 expense allowance of fifty sixty dollars per day if
  1 21 the holder of any such position applies for such
  1 22 additional expense allowance and the holder of the
  1 23 position has an income level of one hundred fifty
  1 24 percent or less of the United States poverty level as
  1 25 defined by the most recently revised poverty income
  1 26 guidelines published by the United States department
  1 27 of health and human services.
  1 28    3.  Any position of membership on the lottery board
  1 29 shall receive compensation of fifty sixty dollars per
  1 30 day and expenses."
