House Amendment 3690

  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-3386, to House File 492, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 2 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "#   .  Page 3, by striking lines 20 through 25 and
  1  6 inserting the following:  "property and the property
  1  7 remains unclaimed fourteen days after the landlord has
  1  8 attempted to contact the owner of the property one
  1  9 time by ordinary mail at the tenant's last known
  1 10 address, the landlord may dispose of the property in
  1 11 accordance with the terms of the rental agreement.  If
  1 12 the rental agreement does not provide for the
  1 13 disposition of abandoned property, the property shall
  1 14 be sold at sheriff's sale with the proceeds to go to
  1 15 the county general fund unless the proceeds are
  1 16 claimed by the tenant within ninety days of the
  1 17 sheriff's sale.""
