  1  1    Amend House File 163 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, line 2, by striking the word
  1  3 "subsection" and inserting the following:
  1  4 "subsections".
  1  5    #2.  Page 1, by inserting after line 7 the
  1  6 following:
  1  7    "NEW SUBSECTION.  8B.  "Family farm entity" means a
  1  8 family farm corporation, family farm limited liability
  1  9 company, family farm partnership, or family trust.
  1 10    NEW SUBSECTION.  10A.  "Farmer" means a natural
  1 11 person who is one of the following:
  1 12    a.  A person who regularly participates in physical
  1 13 labor or the day-to-day management of a farming
  1 14 operation and who files a schedule F as part of the
  1 15 person's annual form 1040 filing with the United
  1 16 States internal revenue service.
  1 17    b.  A person who qualified under paragraph "a" for
  1 18 twenty or more years in the past."
  1 19    #3.  Page 1, line 11, by inserting after the word
  1 20 "person" the following:  ", other than a family farm
  1 21 entity or a farmer,".
  1 22    #4.  Page 1, by striking line 13 and inserting the
  1 23 following:  "entity.  A farmer or family farm entity
  1 24 who holds an interest in an authorized entity shall
  1 25 not hold an interest in another authorized entity, if
  1 26 all authorized entities in which the farmer or family
  1 27 farm entity would".
  1 28    #5.  Page 1, line 16, by striking the word "person"
  1 29 and inserting the following:  "farmer or family farm
  1 30 entity".
  1 31    #6.  Page 1, line 17, by striking the word "person"
  1 32 and inserting the following:  "farmer or family farm
  1 33 entity".
