  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-3109, to House File 2, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 4, line 7, by inserting after the word
  1  4 "below." the following:  "If the court finds that the
  1  5 defendant is mentally retarded, the defendant, if
  1  6 convicted of murder in the first degree, shall be
  1  7 sentenced to life imprisonment in the manner provided
  1  8 in section 902.1, subsection 1."
