The Legislative Process: 76-1

ENROLLMENT

Enrollment is the final preparation of a bill for consideration by the Governor. When both chambers have passed the bill in the same form, it is engrossed or prepared with all amendments incorporated into the bill. After the bill is enrolled, both the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House sign the bill and the Secretary of the Senate or Chief Clerk of the House certify the bill originated in that chamber. The bill is then sent to the Governor for consideration.
