2BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. REPEAL. Sections 904.203, 904.204, 904.205, and
2904.206, Code 2017, are repealed.
3EXPLANATION
4The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
5the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
6This bill repeals provisions relating to correctional
7institution utilization.
8The bill repeals a provision requiring that the Rockwell
9City correctional institution be utilized as a medium security
10correctional facility for men.
11The bill repeals a provision requiring that the Mount
12Pleasant correctional facility be utilized as a medium security
13facility for men primarily for treatment of inmates who exhibit
14treatable personality disorders, with or without accompanying
15history of drug or alcohol abuse.
16The bill repeals a provision requiring that the Clarinda
17correctional facility be utilized as a secure men’s
18correctional facility primarily for offenders with chemical
19dependence, an intellectual disability, or mental illness.
20The bill repeals a provision specifying that the Newton
21correctional facility may include a minimum security facility
22and a violator facility.
