3BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1   Section 1.  Section 483A.8B, subsection 1, Code 2017, is
2amended to read as follows:
   31.  A person who is a resident and who is seventy years
4of age or older may be issued one special senior statewide
5antlerless deer only antlered or any sex deer crossbow deer
6hunting license to hunt deer during bow season as established
7by rule by the commission. A person who obtains a license
8to hunt deer under this section is not required to pay the
9wildlife habitat fee but shall be otherwise qualified to hunt
10deer in this state and shall purchase a resident hunting
11license that does not include the wildlife habitat fee.
12EXPLANATION
13The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
14the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
   15This bill provides that a resident who is 70 years of age or
16older may be issued one special senior statewide antlered or
17any sex deer crossbow deer hunting license to hunt deer during
18bow season as established by rule by the natural resource
19commission. Currently, such a license may be issued to hunt
20antlerless deer only.
