3BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. Section 26.7, subsection 1, paragraph a, Code
22022, is amended to read as follows:
3a. The time, and place, and manner for filing sealed
4proposals.
5 Sec. 2. Section 26.7, Code 2022, is amended by adding the
6following new subsection:
7 NEW SUBSECTION. 1A. The notice to bidders may provide that
8bids may be received in an electronic format as determined by
9the governmental entity.
10EXPLANATION
11The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
12the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
13This bill allows a governmental entity in a notice to bidders
14for a public improvement contract under Code chapter 26 to
15provide that bids may be received in an electronic format.
