Senate Study Bill 3097 - IntroducedA Bill ForAn Act 1concerning restrictions on workforce advertising by

3BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. Section 84A.5, Code 2022, is amended by adding
2the following new subsection:
3 NEW SUBSECTION. 16. The department of workforce
4development shall ensure that companies that have no physical
5presence in the state shall not be allowed to advertise for
6workers on an internet site maintained by any state agency or
7through any other means funded by an appropriation to a state
8agency.
9EXPLANATION
10The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
11the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
12This bill provides that the department of workforce
13development shall ensure that out-of-state companies cannot
14advertise for workers on a state agency internet site or
15through any other means funded by an appropriation to a state
16agency.
